If you are asking “Will GTA 6 be 200GB?” the real question is “How much free space do I actually have?”
Based on current AAA trends and Rockstar’s obsession with detail, GTA 6 is widely expected to cross 150GB and could easily touch or exceed 200GB at launch. Add day-one patches and future GTA Online expansions and your console might start negotiating storage terms with you.
Why so big?
First, the map. Vice City is back and rumored to be larger and denser than anything Rockstar has built before. More interiors, more NPCs, more chaos.
Second, ultra high resolution textures and realistic lighting built for PS5 and Xbox Series X. Next gen assets are heavy. Your SSD knows this.
Third, audio. Rockstar does not compress atmosphere. Every radio station, gunshot, and Florida man screaming in the distance takes space.
The good news is modern consoles are designed for fast SSD streaming. The bad news is you may need to delete three old games and that “I’ll play this someday” indie title.
Verdict: 200GB is not crazy. It is preparation season. Start cleaning storage now.
